i feel what nate is saying about rappers hitting it big and then they just get lazy and don't do anything. And when I listen to Kanye he seems to talk about himself ALOT, and he started this since 808's & HeartBreaks. He's got mad talent though.

kanye can eat a dick. The mans like all other rappers; they sounded better when they where still hungry and unknown, but once they hit the big time, their lyrically ability just goes away. Compare song from the colledge dropout to those on graduation and u can clearly see the differance in quality. Aight, graduation has better production, but i dont listen to a rap song to hear a beat( thats what house music is for), i listen to the words the rappers are sayin and kanye made no fuckin sense on graduation...
As for lupe, he's a fuckin anomoly....the guy just gets better with age, like a bottle of wine...

OH SHIZ lol, hes got a point tho...Kanye has MAD skills....but acts like a bitch when he doesnt get his way. Atleast he knows he needs to grow up a bit, he even made mention of it after he became a gayfish LMFAO...kidding. I dont think Lupe was rippin on Kanye, but i DO think he made that comment to sort of set him apart from Kanye in his own right. Cant see the stars when your in someone else's shadow right?

I mean i can respect the statements but I don't hold respect for Mr. West. I was one of the privileged that waited on Kanye at Bonnaroo, and disappointing would be a flattering way to describe him. Lupe raps based on knowledge while Kanye raps for Kanye. The fact that Lupe used Jesus Walks for his hook wasn't because it sounded cool. Kanye needs to stick to what he's good at, making beats and shutting up.

In regards to the Kanye comments, I don't think "...I ain't tryna profit of the porphets, so this one here's for free..." was a shot at Kanye at all. It was a showing of respect for Lupe's beliefs and his respect for the beliefs of others. If you notice through out the song he makes referance to other religious figure heads. I think that if you are seeing that as a shot at Kanye, it is more transferance of your dislike or distain for the Louis Vuitton Don on to Lupe. Kanye isn't a "whimmpy bitch" (present album exluded. He lost his mom, he gets a pass) He is in truth a genius in his on right and Mr. Chi-town Rivera, as the man of great principle that he is (or at least appears to be) would not demean himself or his music by working with someone he didn't respect as an artist or a human being. If he did that, he would be banging out tracks with the like of "50-Snitch and the Bitch Unit". Yeah 50 makes hits and 50 makes money, but he isn't real, he has no substance to his songs. As Lupe has shown time and time again with all of his songs, most so in "Dumb It Down", for him it is about the integrity of his music. If he felt that Kanye was not a fellow such artist or a "whimmpy bitch" trust and believe he would not work with that man.

WELL!....

Monkies, apes and gorillaz ( ;) ) are one of the closest relatives to humans, and thus, are capable of communication, emotion, etc, etc. THEREFORE!, in a creative attempt to add alittle mind candy to the site, I named it "Lupe's Gorilla" and made the discussions to revolve around subtle msgs because, as some have already stated on other convo's, " I never thought of it like that!". So people are learning from Lupe, for what its worth, like a man trying to teach a monkey. Ignorant isnt a mean word, it just means unknowledged in that area, and ALOT of people are pretty fucking ignorant to the world around them....Lupe hooks you with a beat, but wins you with a words :) Your learning and becoming a more interactive part of your world when you can actually think about it, not walk mindlessly thru it.

So sit back you ignorant monkey, cause mind candy is what Lupe is all about....if you have the capacity to undestand his msg....or maybe you should just stick to the beats....he's pretty damn good at that too :)
